教育背景和工作經曆

1、1997年至2001年就讀于湖南大學人文社會科學系新聞學專業。

2、2001年至2003年任教于湖南衡陽師範學院新聞系。

3、2003年至2009年，碩士、博士就讀于上海菠菜技术交流论坛曆史學系，博士學位論文題目為：《現代中國的公共輿論：以<大公報>“星期論文”和<申報>“自由談”為中心的曆史考察》，期間至加拿大不列颠哥倫比亞大學亞洲研究所訪問交流一學年。

4、2009年至今，任教于菠菜技术交流论坛曆史學系，先後任中國近現代史教研室講師、副教授，2020年1月破格晉升教授，博士生導師。菠菜技术交流论坛-加拿大不列颠哥倫比亞大學現代中國與世界聯合研究中心研究員，哈佛燕京訪學學者。

主要開設課程有：必修課：《史學論文寫作》、《中國近現代史（下）》、《中國現代曆史文選》，專業選修課及通識課：《現代中國傳媒與知識分子》、《回憶錄、口述史與20世紀中國》。研究生課程有：《中國文化史專題研究》、《二十世紀中國革命專題研究》、《中國曆史通論》（與黃純豔教授、王東教授、包詩卿副教授合開的研究生必修課）等。

主要研究方向為：晚清民國報刊史與知識分子史；左翼文化與20世紀中國革命；回憶錄、口述史與20世紀中國的曆史記憶等領域。

5、2014年應邀到韓國延世大學參加“東亞公共性的危機：社會人文學的挑戰與回應”國際學術會議。  

6、2015年4月到香港中文大學訪問一月，5月應邀到台灣中央研究院參加“曆史的躁動：回憶、叙述與二十世紀中期的中國”國際學術會議。

7、2016年6月到日本京都同志社大學參加亞洲AAS會議，所參加的工作坊是1920、30年代的中國思想與世界，并提交專題研究論文。

8、2017年8月至2018年8月，哈佛燕京學社訪問學者，期間做了一次英文演講，并旁聽參加了在華盛頓.D.C舉辦的AAS議。

Bio: Tang Xiaobing is an Associate Professor from the History Department of East China Normal University, China. He obtained his B.A. (2001) in Journalism at Hunan University after which he moved to Shanghai to undertake history studies. He was awarded an M.A. (2006) and Ph.D. (2009) from the History Department of East China Normal University. During his Ph.D. study, he spent one year conducting research at the University of British Columbia.Now he is a visiting scholar of Harvard-Yenching Institute from 2017-2018.

Research field: Tang’s research topics cover modern Chinese history, particularly focusing on the change and continuity of Chinese intellectuals’ thoughts and culture, and the development of Chinese journalism in the first half of the twentieth century. Currently, he is conducting a study of left-wing intellectuals’ thoughts, behaviors and activities in 1920s and 1930s China, which is aimed at revealing the subtle and complex relations between the exchange of left-wing culture in China and the later Communist revolution.
